MAGNT Meeting
Saturday Dec. 10, 2011
10 AM to noon
Unity South Church
7950 First Ave. So.
Bloomington, 55420
Quantum Physics
Facilitator: David Perlman, Ph.D.
Quantum Physics tells us that the Universe is inherently fuzzy. This
does not mean that our instruments are not good enough to see
clearly; it means that it is not possible to build devices that will
see clearly because what is being observed is simply not sharp.
We will investigate what that means for us both physically and
philosophically. What makes the universe like that? Is
there even such a thing as objective reality, or is
Everything (cap E intended ) just in our minds? Can we
be absolutely certain of anything, and if so, what?
We will be looking at our sense perceptions, our
instruments that aid our senses, and because it may be
that what we think of as solid matter may really be pure
wave energy, we will be playing with waves.
"Playing with waves" will be interactive as well as
other activity oriented demos.
Although David Perlman has a Ph.D. in math and teaches
at Herzing University, he is particularly interested in
math phobia and how to overcome it.
MAGNT, the Minnesota chapter of the Association for Global New
Thought, offers activities to expand consciousness. Its purpose
is to inspire, inform and empower people to create an awakened
world. MAGNT is supported by local Unity and Religious Science
churches.
There is no admission fee for this or other MAGNT
programs unless specified. Donations are welcome. No
need to pre-register. Just come and be warmly included.
Come to learn, to ask questions, and to engage in
spirited conversation with the group.
We look forward to seeing you.
