Where are you headed? We are called to answer these questions every day of our lives. Some of the time, we try to answer them honestly -- from our center. But that's difficult to do and sometimes impossible. In a microwave world, slow simmer cooking is discouraged. Instead, we are bombarded with persistent invitations to provide rapid -- and vapid -- responses. Or no response: "I'm not here right now. But if you leave a message, I'll get back to you someday." These shortcuts seem to make life easier. In actuality, they lead to illness, depression, hardening of the heart's arteries, and -- in Henry David Thoreau's immortal phrase -- lives of quiet desperation. In this program, we will explore several concepts and tools that can help us in our efforts to bypass shortcuts, to be brazen, and to show up. Included in the conversation: the ideas of Martin Buber, Eckhart Tolle, and L. Ron Hubbard. About the facilitator: Ira L. Gordon is a Jungian oriented astrologer, formerly a professor of philosophy, who has devoted considerable time and energy to studying the conditions under which people become more alive. Saturday MAGNT meetings are free and open to the public. No need to pre-register. Just come and be warmly included. MAGNT, the Minnesota chapter of the Association for Global New Thought, offers activities to expand consciousness. Its purpose is to inspire, inform and empower people to create an awakened world.
