MAGNT Meeting Saturday, January 12, 2008 10 AM to noon
Unity South Church 7950 First Ave. So. Bloomington, 55420
Topic: Can We Stop Pretending?
Are you a Marilyn Monroe? A James Dean? Meryl Streep? Nicole Kidman? Walter Matthau? Most of us have many identities. Most of us wear masks.
Which of your masks are you aware of? Have you ever experienced yourself as maskless?
At the January MAGNT meeting, Ira Gordon will lead us through a sort of identity laboratory. It will also be a masque - a multi media entertainment - a celebration, and a party.
Via a film clip, group discussion, and several theater exercises, we will attempt to catch a glimpse of ourselves -- our true selves -- from an unfamiliar angle. We will also examine our neglected roles, the identities that we may want to incorporate into the dramas that are our lives.
You are invited to bring with you:
Ira L. Gordon is a sometime playwright, an amateur dancer and a student of how we reveal and conceal ourselves.
Saturday MAGNT meetings are free and open to the public. No need to pre-register. Just come and be warmly included. MAGNT, the Minnesota chapter of the Association for Global New Thought, offers activities to expand consciousness. Its purpose is to inspire, inform and empower people to create an awakened world. MAGNT is supported by local Unity and Religious Science churches.
Come to learn, to ask questions, and to engage in spirited conversation with the group. We look forward to seeing you.
