No More Making Nice: An Introduction to Empowering, Nonviolent Communication
Perhaps your preferred style of dealing with conflict is to “make nice,” and you’d like a more satisfying, richer approach to sorting out differences with others. Perhaps you feel as if you are constantly butting heads with someone and getting nowhere, or someone in your life knows just how to push your buttons, and does so often. In any case, the empowering, nonviolent approach to handling conflict will give you insights to enhance your relationships with others.
At the October MAGNT meeting, you will have an opportunity to explore your own relationship to conflict, learn new skills for handling difficult situations, and contribute to the collective energy of nonviolence. Rosemary Ritchie will introduce eight principles for handling interpersonal conflict and some basic tenets of Nonviolent Communication. Then we will practice a couple of new skills with each other, and leave with a greater awareness of how we can each bring a bit more peace to our corner of the world.
Saturday MAGNT meetings are free and open to the public. No need to pre-register. Just come and be warmly included. MAGNT, the Minnesota chapter of the Association for Global New Thought, offers activities to expand consciousness. Its purpose is to inspire, inform and empower people to create an awakened world. MAGNT is supported by local Unity and Religious Science churches.
Come to learn, to ask questions, and to engage in spirited conversation with the group. We look forward to seeing you.
